Neuroplasticity — my approach and professional community

Applying neuroplasticity insights is one of the services I offer. Welcome to a discipline that is both rigorous and quietly revolutionary.

My roots in the neuroplasticity community

Since 2023, I have been part of npnHub, the international professional community affiliated with the npnInstitute of Applied and Organizational Neuroscience — a multidisciplinary network of coaches, supervisors, therapists, clinicians, and researchers. In February 2024, I was vetted as a Master Neuroplastician (M.npn).

What is neuroplasticity?

Neuroplasticity is the brain’s lifelong capacity to rewire, adapt, and learn. As an applied science, it goes further: it is concerned with how we can intentionally harness that capacity for growth, change, and wellbeing.

How my interest was ignited

My curiosity about brain function was first sparked during my Conversational Intelligence (C-IQ) certification in 2017, where I explored how oxytocin and cortisol shape our thinking and conversations. In 2020, my article “Inclusion and the Brain” deepened this further, opening a new dimension in my work as coach, supervisor, and nutritionist.

Bringing professional identities together

Neuroscience gave me a language connecting threads I had always felt were related. Some milestones:

  • Presented applied neuroscience for coaches and supervisors at ANSE Summer University in Budapest (2023) and Munich (2025).
  • Co-authored the Handboek Supervisie voor Coaches with Louis van Kessel (Kloosterhof, 2025); English edition expected May/June 2026.
  • Co-authored academic publications with M.npn Selma Kalkavan on heart-brain dynamics in leadership decision-making, including M.npn Leo Khirugh’s Art of Thinking voice-analysis tool.

My role within the neuroplastician community

Since January 2025, I advise the npn-team on capacity development. With Deirdre Morrison, I designed the learning pathways and competency profile for the three credentialing tiers (Associate, Professional, Master), resulting in the Handbook for the Credentialing of Neuroplasticians.

In September 2025, the NPARS pilot (Neuroplastician Practice Alignment Review Sessions) launched at the npnInstitute. I serve as programme leader and group supervisor alongside Liz Guthridge, with a formal evaluation in December 2026.
