Growth Mindset – for Thinking, Connecting, and Leading

Mindset influences the kind of information we pay attention to in any given situation.

It’s how the brain handles errors and mistakes, how we interpret failures and success, and how we adapt to changing circumstances.

The Growth Mindset workshop was developed during a gathering of Conversational Intelligence® professionals in Sweden. We brought together two powerful approaches: the concept of the growth mindset and the framework of  Conversational Intelligence® (C-IQ).

What is a Growth Mindset?

The concept of growth mindset, developed by psychologist Carol Dweck, is based on the belief that qualities, intelligence, and abilities of individuals are not fixed traits, but can be trained and developed.

The NeuroLeadership Institute coined the term Organizational Growth Mindset.

People with a growth mindset embrace challenges, see mistakes as learning opportunities, and believe in the power of effort and growth.

This stands in contrast to the fixed mindset, in which people believe that talent and intelligence are innate and largely unchangeable.

What is Conversational Intelligence® (C-IQ)?

C-IQ is grounded in neuroscience research on the impact of communication on the brain. Judith E. Glaser demonstrated how words and conversations trigger chemical reactions in the brain that influence our sense of safety, trust, and collaboration. Language can activate the brain into a state of openness and connection—or into defense and withdrawal.

C-IQ offers a practical framework that helps people learn to steer conversations that foster trust, creativity, and co-creation.

As such, it provides fertile ground for cultivating a growth mindset within teams and organizations.

What will you learn?

A leaders’ growth mindset will trickle down to the workforce. Participants experience and learn:

  • How to shift from a resistor position (characterized by distrust, resistance, and disengagement) to an experimentor stance, marked by trust, curiosity, and a willingness to grow.
  • How language and consciously chosen words can activate the brain toward a positive, growth-oriented mindset.
  • That making mistakes and showing vulnerability are not signs of weakness, but essential ingredients for personal leadership and sustainable development.

Methodology

The masterclass alternates brief theoretical frameworks with experiential exercises, group reflection, and practical assignments.

Participants explore their mindset and communication patterns, and develop an action plan.
