Since 2023, I have been part of the international professional community, npnHub, under the npnInstitute of Applied and Organizational Neuroscience

Members include coaches, supervisors, therapists, clinicians, and researchers, all passionate about applying neuroplasticity in their professional and personal lives.

What is neuroplasticity?

Neuroplasticity refers to the brain’s ability to rewire, adapt, and learn—a capacity inherent in all human beings. Yet, the discipline goes beyond this basic definition.

How my interest for neuroplasticity was ignited

My journey into understanding brain function was stimulated during my certification in Conversational Intelligence (C-IQ) in 2017 , where I explored the impact of neurotransmitters oxytocin and cortisol on our thinking and conversations.

Recognizing how deeply rooted biases are in the architecture and functioning of the human brain was enlightening. In 2020, I delved further into this with an article “Inclusion and the Brain,” igniting a newfound interest in applied neuroscience within my roles as a coach, supervisor, and nutritionist.

Integration of professional identities

My journey led me to integrate neuroscience with philosophy, nutrition, trauma therapy, and positive psychology, revealing the power of an interdisciplinary approach.

  • In 2023, I found the neuroplastician community—a supportive network of like-minded professionals—after facing challenges in pursuing a PhD.

  • I’ve shared my insights at ANSE Summer University 2023 and I am now preparing for workshops at  ANSE SU in Munich August 2025.

  • Co-authoring the handbook  Supervision for Coaches (expected Sept 2025) has deepened my skills in critical thinking, reflection, and integration of disciplines

  • In February 2024, I was vetted as a Master Neuroplastician by the npnInstitute,

A new professional identity

I started to communicate my new identity of the neuroplastician to the outside world, e, g with this blog

In January 2025, I joined the npn-team as strategic advisor for capacity development of neuroplasticians. We worked on the design of learning paths and competency profiles

We developed a competency framework for neuroplasticians for the tiers of the Associate, Professional, and Master Neuroplasticians, and learning paths for their professional growth as a neuroplastician.

The npnInsttitute’s credentialing program starts in September 2025.

The Neuroplastician Practice Alignment Reviews (NPARs) are part of this program.  And developed to guide npn-professionals in small groups during their certification process.
