What is resilience?
Resilience refers to the ability and dynamic process through which individuals and teams adapt to adversity and how they can prevent illness and burnout. Adversity can involve experiences of stress and trauma. Resilience also includes recovering healthy functioning after setbacks. It involves strengthening the capacity to cope with (future) stressors. At its core, resilience is about managing the energy we can muster each day and each week. Resilience is not a static trait but a dynamic capacity that changes over time as a result of the balance between demands and resources, and interaction with the environment.
Leaders and organizations need insights and data to measure and map the resilience of people, teams, and organizational units.
To understand what is needed to enhance resilience, we apply the Neurozone® Assessments.
They support the development of resilience and performance at the level of the individual, group, or team.
There are two types of resilience scores (known as the Neurozone Resilience Index, or NRI): one at the individual level (and aggregated at group level), and one at the team level as a relational system.
The Assessments provide well-founded and measurable insights into well-being, stress, and performance. The NRI is based on reliable and validated scientific insights from immunology, neurophysiology, systems thinking, and the functioning of brain-body systems. The analysis yields recommendations and concrete behavioral strategies to enhance resilience.
A solid analysis is a valuable investment in well-being and performance within organizations. The aim is, for example: reduced burnout and absenteeism, prevention of stress and illness, increased positivity, and improved productivity at the individual, team, and organizational levels.

The App & Reports
To map individual profiles and calculate the personal NRI, we use the Neurozone® app. It allows individuals to track their own progress in building resilience.
For teams and groups, data from all assessments is analyzed to provide insights aligned with your specific goals. The results are presented in clear, detailed reports.

Professional Guidance
Sonja Vlaar is certified to use Neurozone® diagnostic tools.
Assessments are often part of broader projects, in collaboration with the client organization.
As a certified Neurozone professional, I will work with you to determine the best approach. Together, we’ll explore how the feedback is structured, how data is protected, and the ethical aspects of the process. You’ll also receive expert guidance in applied neuroscience and brain-body dynamics related to individual and team performance.
